Sunriver’s New SHARC

What’s SHARC, you ask? It’s aquatic. But it has nothing to do with Jaws. Think year-round family fun at a state-of-the-art aquatic center with all the extras. SHARQ stands for Sunriver Homeowners Aquatic & Recreation Center. It’s a modern indoor/outdoor facility on roughly 22 acres of Sunriver Resort near Bend, Oregon. The 33,000-sq.-ft. facility has a large indoor pool with beach entry and multi-activity components to entertain toddlers to grandpa. It also has event space to handle everything from meetings to weddings, a fitness room, indoor and patio lounge areas, and locker rooms with access to indoor and outdoor pool areas.

Outdoors, a large main pool has recreation and lap swimming, challenging water crossing areas, a lazy float river and two exciting water slides. A year-round tubing park, equipped with special matting and tubes for all-season use, has three runs that range from from gentle to bomber. There were already a thousand reasons to vacation at Sunriver Resort; now, with SHARC, there are two thousand. Resort guests enjoy free admission to SHARC. Even if you’re not staying at Sunriver, you can enjoy SHARC’s facilities for a day use fee. For hours, fees and more information, visit www.sunriver-resort.com or call (800) 801-8765.
